Frequently asked questions

What areas does Monorail Sound serve?

We play weddings and events across Greater Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky, Dayton, and Columbus. The recording studio is in Madeira, OH, about 15 minutes from downtown Cincinnati.

Do you offer a DJ, a live band, or both?

Both — and they mix. Many couples book a string quartet or acoustic guitar for the ceremony, a live set for cocktail hour, and a DJ for the reception. We build the lineup around your day.

Can we give you a do-not-play list?

Yes, and we treat it as law. You control the playlist; we handle the reading of the room within it.

What comes with the DJ package?

Professional sound equipment, dance lighting, wireless microphones for toasts and speeches, and emceeing. DJ Ned or DJ Evan runs your night personally.

What instruments and gear are in the recording studio?

Guitars and amps, bass guitars, keyboards, vocal and dynamic microphones, and a fully mic'd drum kit — plus a range of analog outboard gear and modern plugins.

Can I rent the studio without an engineer?

Yes. No-engineer rentals are available for artists who run their own sessions — ask about rental blocks through the contact form.

How do revisions work on mixing and mastering?

Every mix or master includes two revisions. Additional revisions are $50 each. Radio edits are +$50, acapella or performance mixes +$25 each, and beat stem alignment +$50 if your session needs it.

Can you mix my song remotely?

Yes — send your stems from anywhere. The Local Stop tier covers vocal-only mixes over an existing instrumental; the Express Service tier is a full multitrack mix and master delivered as WAV and MP3.
